NEC Member Ann Black on the Record – Newham Trigger Ballot questions

Ann Black reports that many NEC members had received many emails from Newham about the ballot for their mayoral candidate. She highlighted a series of issues that warrant further investigation including: conflicts of interest among officers in the Newham Local Campaign Forum, who are largely Cllrs appointed by the incumbent Mayor but oversaw the trigger ballot process; plus affilate organisations and the fact that they have the same voting weight as a 500-strong party branch plus able to vote without consulting their local members. She’s agreed to come to Newham with NEC member Cllr Alice Perry to hear members concerns. You can read more here.
